Objective
Assess the performance of Creusabro® 4800 as a replacement for 400 HB water-quenched steel in the bottom scrapers of a cement mixer, with the aim of extending wear life and reducing maintenance downtime in a high-friction, rotating environment.
Test Conditions
- Location: Cement plant in Belgium 
- Environment: Constant abrasive contact with raw mix material inside the cement mixer. The scrapers are subject to frictional wear from continuous scraping against both material and drum surface. 
- Function: Bottom scrapers ensuring proper flow, mixing and cleaning inside the drum. 
- Original material: 400 HB water-quenched steel 
- Replacement material: Creusabro® 4800, processed by plasma cutting and drilling.
